Enter the full, 4D fido-style address of your boss (ex.: 2:281/527.0). Charon changes the colon and slash into dots and makes this address the filename of your config file.
Enter the system's telephone number (ex.: 070-3234903)
Enter the name of your boss system.
If you use a password, enter it here. Otherwise, leave this space empty.
Enter your own fidonet address (ex.: 2:281/527.18).
If you use the EMSI protocol, you can enter multiple addresses (AKAs), separated from each other by a single <space>.
Select the folder where Charon can find outbound mail -- files to be sent to your boss.
Using Obolus: select the 2.281.527 folder (or whatever address your boss has).
Using CounterPoint: select CP's Gateway folder.
Select the folder where you want files sent by your boss (inbound files) to be stored.
CounterPoint with or without Obolus: Select CP's 'PKT's' folder.
Select the Obolus program if you want to use the Obolus mail scanner/exporter.
If you do _not_ want to use Obolus, make sure that the 'Use Obolus' checkbox is unchecked.
Obolus is a program that enables Charon to extract messages you wrote in COUNTERPoint right before polling your boss.
Charon needs to know where it can find the mail you want to send, and where to store received mail.
NOTE:
Charon sends ALL files in the outbound folder.
Programs to be uploaded should first be compressed or BinHexed: Charon ignores the resource fork!
EMSI is useful if you use multiple addresses (AKAs).
Unchecking this option forces Charon to fall back to the older YooHoo protocol, without trying for EMSI. If your boss does not support EMSI, uncheck this option to speed things up a bit.
